Planned Power Outage Scheduled For Mineral And Hampshire Counties

Potomac Edison has scheduled an electric service interruption for areas of southern Mineral and western Hampshire Counties, West Virginia on Monday, Aug. 3. Potomac Edison regrets the inconvenience, but the work to upgrade our facilities is necessary to ensure service reliability in the area.

The outage will occur from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., allowing crews to safely replace equipment in the Junction Substation located between Keyser and Romney on U.S. Route 50.

The outage will affect approximately 1,470 customers along Route 46 from Cemetery Road east to Foreback Road and Knobley Road, starting a half mile south of Taylor Lake going north to a half mile north of the Livengood Farm; part of Waxler Road on top of Knobley Mountain; all of Taylor Lake Subdivision; all of Fountainhead Subdivision; Headsville Road, Fried Meat Ridge Road, Push Root Road, Cabin Run Road, Old State Road, Jake Staggers Road, Susan Fleek Road and Reeves Road; part of Horseshoe Road by Rays Texaco and Patterson Creek Road from Headsville Road to Route 46; Champwood Lane and Rinehart Road.

Potomac Edison will attempt to contact affected customers by phone prior to the outage.

The outage will be rescheduled for the same time on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015 in case of inclement weather.
