On Saturday at 11:36 pm Cumberland Police Officers responded to the Fort Cumberland Homes apartment complex for a report of a man with a gun. Upon arrival officers located 18 year old Patrick Lee Thompson entering a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers made contact with Patrick Thompson and after a search located a realistic look BB gun. Responding officers then continued their investigation and interviewed the residents of a nearby apartment who reported that Patrick Thompson had entered their apartment and threatened them with what they perceived to be a real handgun. As a result of the investigation Patrick Thompson was arrested and charged with felony assault, misdemeanor assault, felony burglary, reckless endangerment, use of a handgun in a commission of a crime, and possession of metal knuckles. Following his arrest Patrick Thompson was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on $70,000 bail.
