Police Investigating Alleged Stabbing Incident

The Cumberland Police Department and the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating an alleged stabbing incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, August 26th in the 300 block of Davidson Street in Cumberland.   During this incident, a 45-year-old male victim called 911 at 3:40am and reported that he had been stabbed.     Paramedics from the Cumberland Fire Department responded to the scene and treated the victim who was subsequently transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained during the attack.    As a result of the police investigation  it was discovered that two suspects:  one described as a white male,  age approximately 25, 5’9” in height, 165 pounds, wearing a baseball hat, and a black male, age approximately 25, 6’0” in height, 190 pounds, wearing a baseball hat, visited the residence where the victim was staying on Davidson Street.  While at the residence an argument then ensued and moved out into the street where the victim was allegedly stabbed.  Witnesses then reported seeing the suspects flee on foot.    Technicians from the Maryland State Police Crime Lab also responded to the scene and assisted in the investigation.   Further medical information on the victim is not available.
