At approximately 6:33 p.m. officers responded to a Marietta Street residence for a report of a burglary. Officers arrived and found that the home had been entered and numerous items inside destroyed. Officers canvassed the area and located a witness to the burglary. A suspect was developed and a short time later the suspect was located walking on Bedford Street. The suspect was positively identified as the person who entered the residence causing the property damage. Jeremy Shane Viola was taken into custody without incident. Upon speaking with Viola it was discovered that he had intention of entering the residence to assault the homeowner. Viola was transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Viola was later taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $3,000.00 bond.
