Police Log – 01/22/2015

On Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 500 block of N. Centre Street in reference to a domestic assault.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with a male victim who stated that he was assaulted by his girlfriend, Ashley Korin Ford.  The victim stated that Ford arrived home from work and began to yell at him and accuse him of cheating on her.  The victim stated that Ford assaulted him by striking and scratching him.  The victim also stated that Ford threw a glass cup at him which struck him on his hand causing the glass to break and cutting his hand.  Minor injuries were observed by officers on the victim, the injuries did not require medical attention.

Ford was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Ford was transported to District Court for her initial appearance and was released on her personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Arrested:

Ashley Korin Ford – age 24 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Second degree assault.

 

Assault / Disorderly Conduct

On Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at approximately 6:50 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 100 block of Bedford Street in reference to a female creating a disturbance.  Upon the officers arrival she observed a female actively assaulting a male subject.  The female identified as Caitlyn Elizabeth Castle was placed under arrest due to her actions.

The officer spoke with the male subject who stated that Castle is his ex-girlfriend and he was at his current girlfriend’s residence when he heard a vehicle horn sounding.  He looked out and saw Castle inside of his pickup truck.  He stated that he went outside to get her out of his truck and she began yelling at him and assaulting him.  No damage was observed to the victim’s vehicle.  The victim was not injured from the assault.

Castle was transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Castle was later taken to District Court for her initial appearance and was released on her personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Caitlyn Elizabeth Castle – 23 – Bedford, PA

Charges:

Second degree assault and disorderly conduct.

 

Arrest Warrant Served

On Wednesday, January 21, 2015 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Raymond Desales Washington 3rd on an arrest warrant.  The warrant stems from an assault complaint which was reported on January 19, 2015.  On that date officers responded to a residence located in the 300 block of Independence Street in reference to the assault.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the victim as well as witnesses.  The victim stated that he heard someone knocking on his door and when he looked out he saw Washington.  The victim opened the door and Washington came inside.  Washington came at the victim in an aggressive manner and began to assault him, pulled him outside by his shirt and was repeatedly striking him.  The victim stated that Washington shoved him down a flight of stairs.  Washington fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival.  The victim did not require medical attention for his injuries.  During the investigation it was learned that Washington also violated a peace order issued by District Court.  This order instructs Washington to stay away from this residence.  Charges were applied for against Washington resulting in the arrest warrant being issued.

Washington was served with the warrant and taken to District Court for his initial appearance.  Washington was held at the Allegany County Detention center on $8,000.00.

Charges:

Arrest warrant charging Washington with the following;

1. Second degree assault.

2. Trespassing.

3. Violating the condition of a peace order.

4. False statement to a police officer.
