Police Log – 03-15-15

On 03/14/15 at approximately 7:34 PM Officers on patrol downtown during the Hooley Pub Crawl observed two males actively involved in an argument.  Both subjects were causing a disturbance and attracting attention from many others in the area.  Both subjects stated they had been assaulted by the other.  The argument continued causing a further disturbance.  Both subjects were then placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  Both subjects were issued Criminal Citations and were later released from the Police Department to await trial in the Allegany County District Court.

Domestic Assault Arrest

On 03/14/15 at approximately 8:55 PM Officers on patrol in the downtown area during the Hooley Pub Crawl responded to a reported disturbance between a male and female.  Upon their arrival they contacted the male victim.  He stated that he and his girlfriend, Krista Zembower, had been arguing and fighting.  The victim stated they were arguing over the fact he wanted to leave the area and Zembower wanted to remain.  The argument led to Zembower assaulting the victim several times causing red marks on the victim’s face and the victim to have a bloody mouth.  Zembower was then placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  She was charged with Second Degree Assault and taken before a District Court Commissioner.  Zembower was released on her personal recognizance.

Assault Arrest

On 03/14/15 at approximately 9:22 PM Cumberland Police Officers on patrol at the Hooley Pub Crawl responded to a report of an assault in the area of Baltimore Street.  Upon their arrival Officers spoke to the victim who stated her boyfriend, Harley Brooks, observed her walking out of a business on Mechanic Street.  She stated Brooks grabbed her, punched her on the nose and spit on her.  She stated he also attempted to assault her friend.  The victim was referred to the District Court Commissioner’s Office for charges.  The victim applied for the charges and a Criminal Warrant was issued.  The suspect, Harley Brooks, was located on Mechanic Street and placed under arrest without incident.  Brooks was then placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  He was charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault and Disorderly Conduct.  He was taken before a District Court Commissioner was released on $3,000 unsecured bond.

Breaking and Entering Arrest

On 03/14/15 at approximately 11:17 PM Officers responded to a Braddock Road residence for a report of a breaking and entering.  Upon their arrival Officers located David Miller hiding in the bushes in front of the residence.  The resident identified Miller as the subject that came to her door and caused a disturbance.  She stated Miller attempted to gain entrance to her residence and she advised him to leave.  She went back inside her residence and a short time later observed Miller inside of her residence.  Miller was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  He was charged and processed and taken to the District Court Commissioner’s where he was released on his own recognizance.

Disorderly Arrest

On 03/15/15 at approximately 12:17 AM the Cumberland Police Officers on patrol at the Hooley Pub Crawl in the downtown area for a reported disturbance.  While handling the disturbance a male subject, Ronald Adams, was causing a disturbance.  He was advised to leave the area.  He returned to the area several times continuing to cause a disturbance.  Both subjects were then placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  Adams was issued Criminal Citations and was later released from the Police Department to await trial in the Allegany County District Court.
