Hagerstown man facing drug charges

On Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:46 a.m. officers from the Cumberland City Police responded to the 400 block of Park Street for a reported assault in progress.  Upon the officers arrival they were directed to the area where the assault was occurring.  Officers then attempted to contact individuals in the area; however one subject fled the area on foot after being ordered to stop by the officers.

 

Officers engaged in a short foot pursuit with individual and he was eventually caught near the Williams Street intersection.

The subject was identified as Jamerrill Hikeem Claiborne, after a brief investigation he was placed under arrest.

During the fore mentioned investigation officers located 3plastic baggies of suspected cocaine along the foot pursuit route, the baggies of cocaine are believed to have been discarded by Claiborne as he was running from the officers.

Claiborne was transported to the station for charges and processing, he was then transported to the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance.  As a result of initial appearance he was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a $7,500 bond.

Charges:  CDS possession with intent to distribute narcotics, CDS possession other then marijuana, CDS possession of paraphernalia

Domestic Assault Arrest

 

On Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 3:02 a.m. officers from the Cumberland City Police responded to the 100 block of Potomac Street for a reported domestic assault.

Upon the officers arrival they contacted victim of the assault.  The victim stated that her husband grabbed her neck and began choking her, after getting away from her husband she called the police.  The officers observed injuries on the victim’s neck that were consistent with being choked.  The officers then contacted Trevor Aron Laber, who told the officers his actions were out of self defense.  Laber was placed under arrest and transported to the station for charges and processing, he was then transported to the District Court Commissioners office for his initial appearance.  As a result of the initial appearance Laber was held at the Allegany County Dentention Center on a $12,000 bond.

Charges: Assault 1st degree, Assault 2nd degree, Reckless Endangerment

Warrant Service

 

On Sunday, March 15, 2015 the Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Michael Delane Davis.  The warrant service stemmed from an incident that occurred on February 27, 2015 at a residence in the 200 block of W. Second Street.

The investigation into the matter revealed that Davis reportedly stole a lap top computer and then pawned it at a local pawn shop.

Davis was transported to the station for service of the warrant and processing.  He was then transported to the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance.  As a result of the initial appearance, Davis was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial in District Court.
