On Saturday March 22, 2014, Cumberland City Police served a bench warrant on Dezmond Deon Holmes, age 20 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The warrant was issued after Holmes failed to report to Parole and Probation.  Holmes was processed and served at the Cumberland City Police Department.  After being processed and served Holmes was transported to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners Office for a bond hearing.  Holmes was later held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.

Charge: Violation of Probation.

 

CDS Arrest

On Saturday March 22, 2014 an officer from the Cumberland City Police Department was on patrol in the area of Mechanic Street near Industrial Boulevard when he observed the operator a vehicle using a cellular handheld device.  The vehicle was stopped and the operator of the vehicle was contacted.  While speaking with the operator the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.  The operator was removed from the vehicle and the officer conducted a probable cause search.  During a search of the vehicle the officer located a baggie of suspected marijuana inside the cup holder.  The operator who was identified as Jason Scott Deremer was arrested at the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Deremer was processed and served with a criminal citation before being released.

Charge: Possession of marijuana.
