Domestic Assault
On Tuesday, April 08, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Charles Robert Ballard Jr in reference to a Domestic Assault which took place at a residence located on Winton Place. Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the female victim who was visibly upset and crying. The victim stated that she and Ballard had an argument which led to Ballard assaulting her by throwing her down on the bed, the victim was able to free herself but Ballard grabbed her again and slammed her on the floor. The victim also advised that Ballard bit her finger causing it to bleed.Ballard was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. The victim was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Ballard was then taken to District Court for his initial appearance and was released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Second degree assault.
Criminal Summons Served
On Tuesday, April 08, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Michael Adrian Munday. The summons stems from an investigation of a breaking and entering complaint which was reported to the Cumberland Police Department on March 31, 2014. On that date Munday opened a window to a residence in the 900 block of Bedford Street and attempted to gain entry. As Munday opened the window a subject inside this residence screamed and Munday fled the scene. Officers checked the area and were not able to locate Munday.
Munday was identified and charges were applied for against Munday at District Court which resulted in the summons being issued. Munday was served with the summons which charges him with forth degree burglary.

Fourth degree burglary.
