Police Log – 05-08-15

On 05/07/15 at 10:36am The Cumberland Police Dept responded to a business located in the 700blk of Park St in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted store employees who advised that they observed a female subject place several items in a purse and attempt to leave the store without paying for them. The female was stopped and detained by store employees. She was identified as 25 year old Chasity Kesner of Ridgeley. Kesner was issued a Maryland Criminal Citation for Theft under $100 and released pending trial in District Court.

 

Officers again responded to the 700blk of Park St at 4:02pm in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival store employees advised that they observed a male subject place several items into a backpack and their person and attempt to leave the store without paying for them. The subject was identified as 24 year old Tracey Barbour of Cumberland. Barbour was issued a Maryland Criminal Citation for Theft under $100 and released pending trial in District Court.

 

May 7th, 2015                                                                           Hit and run

 

On 05/07/15 at 5:10pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the area of Liberty St near Frederick St in reference to a hit and run complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that their vehicle had been struck while it was parked sustaining damage to the right front bumper. A witness described a white in color SUV as possible being the suspect vehicle. There is no further suspect information. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.

 

May 7th, 2015                                                                               Breaking and Entering

 

On 05/07/15 at 8:28pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence located in the 100blk of S Allegany St in reference to a breaking and entering. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that person(s) unknown had unlawfully entered an unlocked basement area and removed several tools of value. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.
