Police Log – 05-11-15

On Sunday, May 10, 2015 at approximately 7:20 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Arch Street at E. Second Street in reference to an armed robbery.  Dispatch provided a description of the suspects and a direction of travel.  The victim was even able to provide a name of one of the suspects.  As officers arrived on the scene the suspects were located a short distance away.  The victim was contacted and he stated that he was assaulted and robbed by three male subjects.  The victim had a facial injury and his pants pocket was torn as a result of the altercation.  The victim stated that he approached a subject because he owed him money, an argument ensued then one of the suspects pulled a knife and began swinging it at him.  The victim stated that he then ran from the subjects before he was caught and the other subjects began assaulting him by punching and kicking him.  The victim stated that one of the subjects pulled his wallet from his rear pocket causing the pocket to rip.  The victim stated that they stole money from his wallet then threw the wallet on the street.  The victim did not require medical treatment for his injuries.  The victim was able to identify the group of suspects and as a result the following subjects were placed under arrest;

 

Floyd Allen Brimhall – age 38 – Cumberland, MD

 

Charges for Brimhall:

Armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, attempted first degree assault, second degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft under $100.00.

 

 

Marcellius Orlando Hamilton – age 24 – Cumberland, MD

 

Charges for Hamilton:

Robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, second degree assault and theft under $100.00.  Hamilton was held on $50,000.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center.

 

 

Orlando Cornell Meade – age 40 – Cumberland, MD

 

Charges for Meade:

Robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, second degree assault and theft under $100.00.  Meade was held without bail at the Allegany County Detention Center.
