Police serve warrant, make theft arrest

Warrant Arrest

    On 05/01/2014 Cumberland City Police officers served an arrest warrant on a Cumberland woman for a probation violation.  Ashley Marie Stout, 26, was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant issued by the District Court in April 2014. According to documents Stout allegedly failed to complete community service hours as required.  Stout was taken to the Cumberland City Police Department, processed and subsequently taken for a bond hearing.  Stout was released on her own recognizance pending a trial date at District Court.

 

Theft Arrest

    On 05/01/2014 Cumberland City Police officers arrested a Cumberland woman for theft and destruction of property at a local hospital.  Police responded to the hospital in reference to a report from personnel that medicines and equipment had been stolen from a cart which was forcibly opened.  Officers conducted an investigation and were able to locate the stolen medicine and property taken from the exam room.  As a result Elizabeth Lillian Martz, 30 of Cumberland was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department for processing.  Martz was charged with the following:

Theft Less than $1000 – 1 count.

Conspiracy to Commit Theft Less Than $1000 – 1 count.

Destruction of Property Less than $500 – 1 count.

Martz was taken to the Allegany District Court for a bond hearing and held on a $3000 bond.
