On May 16, 2014 at 5:00 PM the Cumberland Police responded to the area of Mechanic Street and Market Street in reference to an adult assaulting a juvenile. Investigation revealed Amanda Jane Holtman assaulted a 9 year old victim after an argument by putting her knee on the back of her neck and also scratching the victim’s face with her hand. Minor injuries were observed to the victim at the time of the complaint, but no medical treatment was required. Holtman was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd Degree Child Abuse and 2nd Degree Assault. Holtman was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was held on $20,000 bond.
