THEFT

On Thursday May 29, 2014, at 10:43 am, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a business on West Industrial Boulevard in reference to a Theft.  Upon arrival officers met with store personnel who noticed Ashley Kelbaugh, age 22 of Cumberland, acting in a suspicious manner as she was observed fumbling items in her handbag.  As the officer approached Kelbaugh, she ran and locked herself in the store’s bathroom.  An employee opened the door and a quantity of store owned property was found in a trashcan.  A further search conducted resulted in additional stolen items being found in Kelbaugh’s handbag.  Located in Kelbaugh’s handbag was a quantity of suspected marihuana, hypodermic syringes and a quantity of narcotic pills.  Kelbaugh was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  She was later taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond review.  Kelbaugh was held on a $3,000.00 dollar bail at the Allegany County Detention Center.

CHARGES:  Theft Less than $100.00 dollars, Possession of Marihuana, Possession not Marihuana.

 

 

THEFT

On Thursday May 29, 2014, at 3:55 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a business on Greene Street in reference to a Theft.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Joseph Crites, age 18 of Ridgeley, West Virginia, allegedly stole some miscellaneous store owned items.  The officer made contact with Crites and the stolen items were returned.  Crites was criminally cited and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.
