On 06/25/2015 Cumberland City Police officers arrested a Cumberland woman on an open warrant for an incident that allegedly occurred on June 20, 2015 which involved an argument over personal property. According to the private citizen complaint filed at District Court, Helen Elizabeth Hood, 53, of Cumberland repeatedly called and harassed the victim in this case after being advised not to do so. As a result of this complaint, Hood was arrested and charged with the following:
Telephone Misuse: Repeat Calls 1 – count
Harassment: A course of conduct 1 – count
Hood was transported to the Cumberland City Police headquarters where she was processed for the warrant. She was subsequently taken to the Allegany County District Court for an initial appearance and released on her personal recognizance pending trial.
Warrant Arrest
On 06/25/2015 Cumberland City Police officers arrested a Cumberland man on an outstanding arrest warrant after he allegedly failed to appear for trial on assault charges in early June. Matthew Phillip Scarpelli, 30, of Cumberland was arrested and transported to the Cumberland City Police headquarters where he was processed. He was transported to the Allegany County District Court for an initial appearance and subsequently held at the Allegany County Detention Center.
