June 5th, 2014 Stolen Motor Vehicle
On 06/05/14 at 10:38am Officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Grand Ave in reference to a possible stolen motor vehicle being in this area. Onstar had contacted the Emergency Operations Center advising that a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Harrisburg PA was in this area. Upon officer’s arrival the suspect vehicle was located traveling on Grand Ave near Fourth St where a Felony traffic stop was conducted after learning that the vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Harrisburg PA. The two occupants; 22 year old Joseph Lamb of Cumberland and 20 year old Jasmin Urrutia of Harrisburg PA were subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Dept for processing. A search of the vehicle was conducted and Officers located a loaded .38 caliber handgun and suspected marijuana. Both Lamb and Urrutia were charged with Felony Theft, Possession of Marijuana, and handgun violations. Both subjects were taken for an initial appearance at District Court where Lamb was being held on a $175,000 bond and Urrutia on a $30,000 bond. Both subjects are currently being held in the Allegany County Detention Center pending their next court appearance. Additional Charges are pending through the State of PA for the motor vehicle theft and burglary.
June 6th, 2014 Domestic Assault
On 06/06/14 at 12:34am, Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 400 blk of Grand Ave in reference to a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that an argument had taken place over prescription medications. The argument then turned physical by the suspect punching him in the face and biting him on the back. Officer’s observed injuries consistent with his account of the incident which did not require medical treatment. As a result 37 year old Christy Dawn Wolfe of Cumberland was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where she was charged with one count of Second Degree Assault. Wolfe was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where she was released on her personal recognizance pending trial.
