Bench Warrants Served

On Thursday, June 12, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Michael Wayne Harper Jr on two bench warrants.  Both warrants charge Harper with failing to appear for court on two separate court dates.  Harper was served with the warrants and taken to District Court for his initial appearance.  Harper was then released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Arrested:

Michael Wayne Harper Jr – age 22 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Two bench warrants charging Harper with failing to appear for court.

 

 

Trespassing Arrests

On Thursday, June 12, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Shannon Michael Pendergast and Brett Leonza Freeman for trespassing on the Cumberland Housing Authority Property located at Jane Frazier Village.  An officer conducting a routine patrol observed both Pendergast and Freeman on the property.  The officer confirmed that both were served with trespass letters previously.  Both Pendergast and Freeman were each issued a criminal citation charging them with trespassing and were released from the scene pending further action at District Court at a later date. 

Arrested:

Shannon Michael Pendergast – age 39 – Cumberland, MD

Brett Leonza Freeman – age 29 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Criminal citations issued for trespassing.

 

 

Domestic Assault Arrest

On Friday, June 13, 2014 at approximately 12:10 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 100 block of s. Smallwood Street in reference to a domestic assault complaint.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the female victim who stated that she was assaulted by her husband, Ervin Latee Stackhouse.  The victim stated that Stackhouse assaulted her by grabbing her from behind and knocking her to the ground causing her knees to be cut.  Officers observed fresh cuts to her knees; her injuries did not require medical attention.  While officers were on the front porch of the residence talking to the victim Stackhouse came out on the porch and began yelling at the victim.  Stackhouse was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.  Stackhouse was taken to District Court for his initial appearance and was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $3,000.00.

Arrested:

Ervin Latee Stackhouse – age 36 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Second degree assault and Disorderly conduct.
