Police Log – 07/09/14

On July 8, 2014 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the area of the Western Maryland Train Station for three subjects attempting to sell alcohol to juveniles.  During a check of the area, officers located two subjects sitting near the railroad crossing consuming alcohol.   Officers made contact with a male subject and a female subject identified as, Cassandra Kay Porter.  As the officer tried to obtain identification from Porter, she informed the officer she was not in possession of one.   The officer asked Porter is he could check her purse for her identification and Porter declined.  Porter later informed the officer that she had an aluminum marijuana pipe inside her purse.   The marijuana pipe was later recovered from Porter and she was placed under arrest.  Porter was transported the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Porter was issued a criminal citation and later released pending her trial date in District Court.

Charge: Possession of drug paraphernalia

 

 

Arrest Warrant Served

On July 9, 2014, Cumberland City Police served a Bench Warrant on Tyler Matthew Zalewski, age 22 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The warrant was issued after Zalewski failed to follow his conditions of probation.  Zalewski was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner.  Zalewski was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $100.00.

Charge: Violation of Probation
