On Sunday August 16th, 2015 officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 500 block of Baltimore Ave for a disturbance between a male and female. Upon arrival officers separated the parties and directed the female, April Marie Hartman, 21 years old of Cumberland, back inside the residence. While investigating the complaint, Hartman exited the residence and continued to cause a disturbance.
She then attempted to leave the scene during the investigation, after being ordered numerous times not to leave. When officers attempted to stop her, Hartman began to resist, pulling away and trying to kick the officers. She was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd Degree Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Fail to Obey a Reasonable and Lawful Order. Hartman was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and taken to a Bond Hearing. She was later released on her own personal recognizance.
