Police Log – 08/18/14

On Sunday August 17, 2014, at 3:38 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private residence in the 300 block of Springdale Street for a Domestic Assault.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Demond Scott, age 27 of Cumberland, allegedly got into an argument with his live in girlfriend.  As she tried to leave, Scott repeatedly kicked the victim and pushed her against a wall and attempted to strangle her.  The assault continued as Scott forced the victim into a vehicle and attempted to strangle her while in the car.  Visible injuries were consistent with the interviews and statements taken by officers as the victims neck was red in color.   It was also learned that Scott assaulted the victim’s six year old daughter.  Scott was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  He was later taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners Office where he was held on a $50,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.  The victim did not require medical attention.

CHARGES: Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Detainment.

 

ASSAULT

 

On Sunday August 17, 2014, at 2:04 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of St. Mary’s Avenue for a Domestic Assault.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Ashley Tilson, age 34 of Cumberland allegedly punched his wife in the leg with a closed fist and in the face.  Officers observed visible injuries to the victim.  Tilson was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed and served.  Tilson was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners for a bond hearing and was released on her personal recognizance pending trial.  The victim did not require medical attention.

VIOLATION OF EX-PARTE

 

On Sunday August 17, 2014, Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Joseph Wolfe, age 43 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The charges were filed as a result of a August 5, 2014 incident where officers responded to a business on Park Street in reference to a violation of a court order complaint.  Investigation revealed that Wolfe engaged into a verbal argument inside the business with two individuals who had previously filed separate protective orders against Wolfe.  Upon officers arrival, Wolfe had fled the area and as a result, criminal charges were filed for the committed violations.  Wolfe was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners Office for a bond review.  He was held on a $10,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

CHARGES:  Peace Order Fail to Comply (2 counts), Disturbing the Peace (2 counts), Violation of Ex-Parte Order.
