August 27th, 2014                                                             Shoplifting

 

On 08/27/14 at 1218pm The Cumberland Police Department responded to a business located in the 400blk of Virginia Ave in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted store employees who advised that they observed a male subject take an item without paying for it. Officers then contacted 33 year old Eric Rosenberger of Cumberland and subsequently placed him under arrest. Rosenberger was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was issued a Maryland Criminal Citation for Theft Under $100.00 and released pending trial in District Court.

On 08/27/14 the Cumberland Police Dept received a complaint of a Destruction of Property to several vehicles. The complainant advised that sometime overnight, person(s) unknown had keyed two vehicles which were parked unattended in the 100blk of Memorial Ave. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600

 

 

August 27th 2014                                                                  Domestic Assault

 

On 08/27/14 at 1042pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence in the 200blk of Gay St in reference to an assault. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who stated that 39 year old Arika McMillan arrived at the residence and an argument ensued. The argument then turned physical with McMillan striking the victim several times with a closed fist in the facial area. The victim sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention. McMillan was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Dept for processing. McMillan was charged with one count of Second Degree Assault. McMillan was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where she was released on her personal recognizance pending trial in District Court.
