On Monday September 7, 2015, Cumberland City Police served a Criminal Summons on John Steinmetz, age 60 of Cumberland, Maryland. The summons was issued as a result of a September 2, 2015 Assault investigation that occurred at a residence on Springdale Street. Officers learned that Steinmetz allegedly assaulted the victim pushing and putting her in a headlock. Steinmetz was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court. The victim did not require medical attention.

CHARGE: Assault 2nd Degree.
