Criminal Summons Served

On January 30, 2014 the Cumberland City Police Department served a criminal summons on David Lee Kesler Jr. age 22, of Cumberland, Maryland.  On January 25, 2014, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to 1512 Oldtown Manor Apartment F, for a domestic assault complaint.  During an investigation into the matter officers learned from the victim that David Kesler had choked her and she nearly went unconscious.  Officers were advised that Kesler assaulted the victim after an argument over the victim's vehicle.  Officers were advised by the victim that they were in the bedroom arguing about the keys and Kesler would not let her leave.  The victim told officers that she attempted to exit the residence through the bedroom window.  Kesler would not allow the victim to leave and pulled her down on the bed by her hair.  Kesler stood over top of the victim holding one hand around her neck and the other hand over her head.  During a brief struggle, Kesler let the victim up and she was able to run from the residence.   Officers conducted a check of the residence and area but failed to locate Kesler.  The victim in this matter received minor injuries that were consistent with her story.  Charges were applied for and a criminal summons was issued.

Charges: 2nd Degree Assault and False Imprisonment.
