Police make theft, trespassing arrests

On October 7, 2015 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to Martin’s Market located at 739 Park Street for a shoplifting complaint.  Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the store manager, who observed Russell Clinton McLamb placing store merchandise inside his pockets.  As McLamb attempted to leave the store, he was stopped and detained.  Once McLamb was stopped, he admitted to stealing the items from the store.  McLamb was later contacted by the officers and taken into custody without incident.  McLamb was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department.  McLamb was processed, issued a criminal citation and released pending his trial date in District Court.

Charge: Theft Less than $100

 

Trespassing Arrest

On October 8, 2015 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the area of Queen City Drive near Frederick Street for a subject trespassing on the CSX train tracks.  As the officers approached the area they observed a white male walking on the train tracks near Frederick Street.  As the first officer exited his patrol vehicle there was a train traveling on the tracks that had to stop.  Officers made contact with the subject identified as, Larry Michel Edmiston.  Edmiston was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department.  Edmiston was processed, issued a criminal citation and released pending his trial date in District Court.

Charge: Trespassing on Posted Property
