City Man Hit With Drug Charges After Warrant Served

On Wednesday October 14, 2015, Cumberland City Police served a Bench Warrant on Richard Welsh, age 46 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The warrant was issued as a result of Welsh failing to appear for court on October 8, 2015 for a previous Theft arrest.   Upon search incident to arrest, a suspected marihuana smoking device was found on his person which he was criminally cited for.  Welsh was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  He was held on a $2,600.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

WARRANT SERVICE

On Wednesday October 14, 2015, Cumberland City Police served a Bench Warrant on Tammy Shoemaker, age 45 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The circuit court warrant was issued as a result of Shoemaker failing to appear for trial on October 13, 2015.  Shoemaker was processed, served and held without bail at the Allegany County Detention Center.

WARRANT SERVICE

On Wednesday October 14, 2015, Cumberland City Police served arrest warrants on Lee Cooper, age 24 of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.  Warrants served were for failing to appear for trial in Allegany County on September 13, 2013 and October 10, 2013 for a previous fugitive from justice arrest and multiple counts of false statement to a Police Officer.   Cooper had an outstanding warrant issued from the District Court of Garrett County Maryland for failing to appear for trial on October 23, 2013 for a driving on a suspended license arrest.  Cooper also had an outstanding arrest warrant from Monongalia County West Virginia for Violation of Probation.  Cooper was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  He was held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center pending extradition to respective jurisdictions.
