Police Log – 10-26-15

On 10/25/2015, Cumberland City Police officers served a criminal summons on a Cumberland woman for charges relating to an alleged robbery which occurred on October 19, 2015 at a York Place residence. 

Charges were filed as a result of a private citizen complaint filed at District Court alleging that Rosemary Hazard, 42, of Cumberland entered the victim’s residence, assaulted them and then took a sum of money from the residence.  The victim filed an application for charges at District Court and Hazard was charged with the following:

Assault Second Degree – 1 count

Robbery – 1 count

Theft less than $1000.00 – 2 counts

Theft less than $100.00 – 1 count

 Hazard was processed for the charges at Cumberland City Police Headquarters and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

 

 Disorderly Conduct Arrest

   

On 10/25/2015 during the late evening hours, Cumberland City Police officers were dispatched to a Mechanic Street apartment complex several times for reported disturbances between residents.  During the initial responses, officers investigated an apparent on-going domestic issue involving Patrick Michael Maffley, 45, of Cumberland and another resident in the building.  During the initial responses, Maffley was advised against any further disorderly behaviors.  Maffley refused to comply with officers repeated requests and as a result he was placed under arrest and charged with the following:

Disorderly Conduct – 1 count

Disturbing the Peace – 1 count

Failure to Obey a Lawful Order of Police – 1 count

Maffley was processed at Cumberland City Police Headquarters and subsequently released on his personal recognizance pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

 

Burglary Arrest

    On 10/25/2015 Cumberland City Police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Virginia Avenue in reference to a reported breaking and entering in progress.  A witness in the area contacted police after they observed several subjects who do not live in the area entering a nearby residence, and  then attempting to break into a second residence on King Street.  Officers arrived on the scene and located several suspects on the Virginia Avenue property and they were detained.  An investigation was conducted and the owners of the residence on Virginia Avenue as well as King Street were contacted.  Both owners indicated that none of the suspects police had detained had authorization to be on their property.  As a result of this investigation Dallas Lelyn Combs, 35, of Cumberland, and a 16 year old juvenile were placed under arrest and transported to Cumberland Police Headquarters and charged with the following:

Dallas Combs:

Burglary 4th Degree Dwelling – 1 count

Trespassing: Private Property – 1 count

Combs was taken for a preliminary hearing at District Court and released on a $4000.00 unsecured bond.

 

16 year old juvenile:

Burglary 4th Degree Dwelling – 2 counts

Trespassing: Private Property – 1 count

The juvenile in this case was referred to The Department of Juvenile Justice.

Charges are pending against a third subject involved in this incident.
