City man facing B&E charges

On November 5, 2014, Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Floyd Eugene Ferguson, age 41 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The warrant was issued as a result of a breaking and entering complaint that was investigated by the Cumberland City Police Department on November 2, 2014, at 754 Maryland Avenue.  During an investigation into the matter, officers contacted the victim, who stated that Floyd Ferguson broke into her home and assaulted her.  The victim told officers that she was texting Ferguson earlier in the day and they began to argue.  Ferguson told the victim that he was coming over to her residence to assault her.   Ferguson arrived at the residence later in the day and forced open the door and assaulted the victim.  Officers investigating the complaint observed damage to the door and jam and latch.  The victim also sustained injuries to her lip and forehead as a result of the assault.  Ferguson was not located on the date of the complaint which resulted in charges being filed at District Court.  Ferguson was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner.  Ferguson was released from District Court after posting $5,000 bond.

Charges: 3rd Degree breaking and entering, 4th Degree breaking and entering and 2nd Degree Assault.
