Police make drug arrest

ASSAULT

On Tuesday November 12, 2014, at 6:28 am, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private residence in the 600 block of St. Mary’s Avenue for an assault complaint.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Traci Tilson, age 35, assaulted the victim prior to police arrival.  Visible injuries were observed on the victims face and nose.  Tilson was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where she was processed and served.  Tilson was later taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  She was released on her personal recognizance pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.  The victim did not require medical attention.

THEFT

On Tuesday November 12, 2014, at 8:25 am, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a business on Virginia Avenue for a reported theft.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Ashlee Lang, age 25 of Cumberland, was observed by store personnel take items from the shelves and leaving the premises without paying for them.  Lang was located nearby and was criminally cited.  She was released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGE:  Theft less than $100.00 dollars.

 

CDS

On Tuesday November 12, 2014, at 10:06 pm, a Cumberland City Police Officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle parked in an alley off the intersection of Centre and Knox Street.  The officer made contact with the occupant who was identified as Tyler Weber, age 27 of Frostburg Md..  Further investigation was conducted by utilizing K9 “TIMO” to conduct a free air scan of the vehicle which yielded positive results for the presence of CDS.  A search of the vehicle was conducted and a baggie of marijuana, several marijuana smoking devices was found along with a large quantity of suspected Alprazolam narcotic pills.  Weber was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Weber was later taken to the Allegany County District Commissioner’s Office where he was released on his personal recognizance pending trial.

CHARGES:  Possession of CDS, Possession with intent to distribute Alprazolam, Possession of CDS paraphernalia (2 counts).   Civil citation issued for Possession of Marijuana less than 10 grams.
