CDS Arrest
On December 21, 2015 an officer from the Cumberland City Police Department was on patrol in the area of the Constitution Park when he observed a vehicle parked over the hill by a small pond. The officer made contact with the operator and the front seat passenger, Dakota McKenzie Getz. While the officer was speaking with both occupants, he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Based on the officer’s detections he asked the occupants to exit the vehicle while he conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle the officer located a box containing a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana. The marijuana pipe was located under the passenger seat which resulted in a criminal citation being issued to Getz. Getz was issued the citation and released from the scene.
