City woman arrested for disturbance

March 18th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

On March 17, 2015, officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 17 Pennsylvania Avenue for a trespassing complaint. Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the complainant. Officers were advised by the complainant that his children’s mother, Angelique Nicole Stewart, was in violation of a safe plan by being on the front porch.

Officers were able to make contact with Stewart who was trying to leave the area. While officers were trying to speak with Stewart she directed her attention towards a female inside the residence. Stewart began to scream loudly about the female being inside the residence. Stewart was advised by the officers to lower her voice or she would be arrested. Stewart then walked quickly up the front porch steps towards the front door, in what appeared to be an effort to confront the female. Officers were able to escort Stewart off the front porch and back into the front yard.

Once Stewart was back out in the yard, she continued to create a disturbance by screaming and yelling. Stewart was told by the officers that she was under arrest. As officers were attempting to place Stewart under arrest, she began to resist the officers. Stewart was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Stewart was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner. Stewart was later released on her own personal recognizance. Arrested: Angelique Nicole Stewart Age: 25 of Cumberland, Maryland Charges: Failure to obey a lawful order, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
