Theft
On 11/29/13 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 700blk of Virginia Ave in reference to a Theft complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who stated that a Yard machine tractor and two push mowers were stolen from the rear yard of the residence. There are no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600

Breaking and Entering

On 11/29/13 the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 800blk of Mt Royal Ave in reference to a Breaking and Entering complaint. Upon arrival it was learned that an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by breaking out a glass window on the rear door. The suspect(s) then entered the residence and began going through items. There have been no suspects developed in this case. Domestic Assault
On 11/29/13 at 10:49pm, Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 200blk of Pear St in reference to a Domestic Assault. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who stated that she was assaulted by her husband; Charles Bauman, 42yoa. According to the victim,an argument ensued and Bauman began striking the victim in the face with a closed fist. The victim had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment consistent with her account of the incident. Bauman was located after returning to the residence and was placed under arrest. Upon searching Bauman incident to arrest, Officers located a quantity of suspected marihuana on his person. Bauman was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was charged with one count of Second Degree Assault and one count of Possession of Marihuana under 10 grams. Bauman was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held on a $10,000 bail.
