Police Raid Puff & Stuff

The C3I Narcotics Unit (aka Allegany County Narcotics Task Force) announced Thursday, March 07, 2013, that on Thursday, March, 7 2013, Agents of the C3I Narcotics Unit, assisted by members of the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and local law enforcement agencies executed five search and seizure warrants related to the possession and distribution of substances commonly know as synthetic cannabinoids (commonly known as “Spice”).

 

            Warrants were executed at three commercial business locations known as Puff & Stuff, Cumberland, Maryland, and one private residence within Allegany County.    These locations were purported to be involved in the sales and storage of the illicit substances. The fifth warrant was served for financial records and proceeds of the enterprise.

 

            The warrants were the culmination of a one year investigation initiated by the C3I Narcotics Unit and the DEA, in which agents focused on the sale of designer drugs in our community.  Assisting in this investigation were members of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland City Police Department, Garrett County Narcotics Task Force, C3I, Washington County Narcotics Task Force, and the Maryland State Police. The investigation is on going and charges are pending against all those involved in such enterprises.   Due to the on going nature of the investigation additional information cannot be provided at this time.
