On March 18, 2013 at approximately 11:52 PM a Cumberland Police Department vehicle was parked on Williams Street in the 300 block and was struck by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle then fled the scene of the accident on Williams Street toward Maryland Ave. A witness described the vehicle as being a Pontiac passenger vehicle and a possible model of a Grand Am or Grand Prix. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600.

On Thursday March 7, 2013, at 6:54 am, Cumberland City Police officers arrested Jordan Shook, a 26 year old from Cumberland. Officers were dispatched to a residence on Oldtown Road for a reported assault. Upon arrival officers observed one of the victims running out of the door of the residence with a bloodied face. The victim advised Shook ran out of the back door of the residence where he was located and placed in custody. Investigation revealed that Shook entered the residence through a bathroom window. While the victim was sleeping she was awakened by Shook as he allegedly began to choke and assault her. The victim advised that Shook also struck her arms with a small hammer as he attempted to steal a sum of money that she had on the nightstand. The victim’s brother entered the room to stop the assault and he also was assaulted by Shook. Neither of the victims required medical attention. Shook was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. He was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners office for a bond review and held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

On Thursday March 7, 2013, Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Jacob Kasecamp, age 27 of Cumberland. On November 19, 2012, Cumberland Police officers responded to a residence on Columbia Avenue for a theft of a four wheel ATV. Investigation revealed that Kasecamp allegedly broke into the garage of the residence and took the ATV. Kasecamp was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Kasecamp was also served with an additional criminal summons for the charge of theft as a result of an investigation handled by Cumberland City Police on February 9, 2013, where Kasecamp allegedly stole a cellular phone from the victim at a business on Kelly Road. Kasecamp was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners for a bond review and was held on a $5,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
