Police requesting businesses to update emergency contact information

March 28th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The following statement was issued by the City Police Department:

The Cumberland Police Department would like to let you know that we are still on the job and patrolling the city.  We realize that several businesses are closed; therefore, we are spending extra time checking on them day and night.

We are asking  the City’s business owners and managers to take the time to contact us and update their emergency contact information.   This will allow us to reach out to you, without delay, if we see something unusual or in the event of an emergency.  In order to accomplish this, we have developed a new tab on our website labeled “Business Registry” at http://www.ci.cumberland.md.us/253/Police-Department.

We are asking business owners and managers to go to this site and enter their emergency contact information so it can be updated in our databases.    You may also email your information to CPD@cumberlandmd.gov if you wish.

Please take the time to send us your businesses contact information.  The information that you provide will be confidential and for police use only.  We appreciate your assistance with updating our files.

Why should they give out anything since the Governor literally forced them to shut down or cut employees. Don’t they just sign up like regular people for alerts
