October 14th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

On Saturday, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to the 500 block of Bedford Street for a report of an individual pointing a firearm at a group of juveniles. Investigation revealed that Dion Johnson, age 45 of Cumberland, directly pointed what appeared to be a military type assault rifle at a juvenile female for no apparent reason when the victim and other juveniles were walking down the street looking for a lost dog.  Johnson walked officers to his residence and turned over the weapon.  It was identified as a pellet rifle.  The victim was visibly upset but not injured and was released to a family member.  Johnson was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Johnson was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s for a bond hearing and held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
