Police Respond to Shots Fired

On Thursday, April 16, 2015 at approximately 5:29 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to Spring Street near Elm Street in reference to a report of shots being fired in this area.  Upon the officers arrival several witnesses reported that two male subjects were involved in an argument which led to one of the subjects pulling a handgun and firing several shots at the second subject as he ran away.  Officers canvassed the area and did not locate any victims resulting from the fired shots.  Several agencies including, Maryland State Police, Natural Resources Police, Allegany County Sheriff’s Department, Maryland State Police Crime Lab Technician, and several C3I Investigators responded to the scene.

 

Numerous witnesses were contacted and interviewed.  A suspect has been developed and charges are pending.
