On February 16, 2017 at approximately 8:10 PM a Cumberland Police Officer responded to the Little Caesar’s Pizza Lot on Industrial Blvd for a complaint. The Officer parked a marked patrol vehicle in a legal parking spot while investigating another matter. After handling the investigation the Officer was approached by several witnesses who stated a vehicle struck the marked police vehicle and immediately left the area. Witnesses identified the suspect vehicle as a silver colored SUV. The suspect vehicle was driven by a white male and there was a white female in the passenger seat. Witnesses stated the silver SUV was backing up in the parking lot and struck the marked police cruiser, exited the parking lot quickly and was last seen travelling eastbound on Industrial Blvd. The Cumberland Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public in solving this crime.
