Police Serve Arrest Warrant for CDS Manufacturing

On Thursday, December 13th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Russell J. Luntz.  The warrant was issued by District Court in reference to an incident investigated by the Cumberland Police Department on October 4th, 2018 at 52 Boone Street.  On that date, an anonymous complaint was received in regards to a large marihuana plant growing in the back yard of 52 Boone Street.  Officers responded and found the plant as reported. As a result, a search warrant of 52 Boone Street was executed and additional marihuana plants and equipment were seized commonly used to in marihuana grow operations.  An owner of the residence was later identified as Russell J. Luntz from Brooklyn, New York.  Luntz was charged with a common nuisance distribution of CDS, possession of marihuana over 10 grams, possession with intent to distribute marihuana, and manufacturing CDS.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held on $3,000 bond.
