Pope Appoints New Auxiliary Bishop Of Archdiocese Of Baltimore

Pope Francis on Wednesday appointed Father Bruce Lewandowski as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, according to a news release. Lewandowski currently serves as pastor at Sacred Heart of Jesus/Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Church in Baltimore and as the delegate for the Hispanic ministry.  While working as the auxiliary bishop, Lewandowski will continue his positions as bishop and delegate of the Hispanic ministry. He will be ordained for at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen Aug. 18 at 2 p.m., according to the news release.

In 2018, WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5's Anne Kramer did a one-on-one interview with Lewandowski on immigration reform as high-profile raids and notable arrests occurred throughout the country. The majority of Lewandowski's parishioners are Hispanic immigrants.
