Post-Labor Day Temps Could Affect Dismissal Times

With post Labor Day temperatures soaring into the low 90’s in parts of Maryland this week, some school systems execised the option of early dismissal to give students a break from the heat. That has not been deemed necessary yet in Allegany County, with early dismissal calls left to the discretion of the superintendent. Mia Cross,  public informational officer for the school system, noted that every school other than Allegany High School has some type of air conditioning system. If conditions do get to points where students well-being may be in jeopardy, staff and administrators at each school have some flexibility to address the problem…
