A spokesperson for the company says that beginning July 2015, FirstEnergy customers in West Virginia of the Monongahela Power Company and Potomac Edison will begin to receive monthly meter readings. Officials say this will help customers receive more accurate bills from month to month. The change comes after the West Virginia Public Service Commission received complaints from residents about their electric bills. An investigation into the power companies billing found that they did not over charge customers. However, the commission still issued a final order saying “the Commission believes that the circumstances warrant a change in order to restore customer confidence and reduce the likelihood of continued problems engendered by bimonthly reading and monthly billing.”
