Prices At The Pump Increase

February 28th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

Compared to the start of February when motorists in 25 states enjoyed average prices below $2 per gallon, March will begin with gas price averages above $2 per gallon in every state in the union. The national average price for regular gasoline has increased for 31 consecutive days for a total of 34 cents per gallon, which is the longest streak of rising prices since last spring. The average rose to $2.37 per gallon Friday, which is nine cents more than one week ago and 33 cents more than one month ago. However, motorists are saving $1.07 per gallon versus this same date last year.  Maryland’s average price at the pump is a penny lower than the national average at $2.36 per gallon, which is a nickel more than last week and 25 cents higher than last month, but $1.09 per gallon cheaper than last year on this date. Cumberlands average price stands at $2.38 a gallon, up four cents from a week ago
