Although there are some segments of the community that feel the best way to handle the Footer Dye Works building is to simply demolish it- it appears as those private sector interest in developing the building and property for commercial use is strong. The Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority advertised for RFP’s for the building a few months ago, and the response was brisk. So much so that the Authority voted yesterday to extend the deadline for submitting proposals until mid February.
