The probable remains of murder victim Lisa Ann Simmons (Bennett) were located in Winchester, Virginia in an industrial park.  Members of local law enforcement and Virginia State Police assisted in locating and recovering the body.

The discovery of the suspected remains was made possible with the cooperation of the suspect in her murder.  The suspect, Stephen George Schleuniger, 44, of Cumberland, was charged with the murder of Ms. Simmons in September 2013 despite law enforcement not having located the body of Ms. Simmons.

Ms. Simmons was reported missing to the Cumberland City Police Department on September 9th 2013.  Shortly thereafter, law enforcement's investigation led to Mr. Schleuniger becoming a suspect in Ms. Simmons disappearance.  A search warrant executed on the residence the two lived in revealed additional evidence that led to Mr. Schleuniger being charged with the murder of Ms. Simmons.

Mr. Schleuniger has a court appearance scheduled in the Circuit Court of Allegany, County on December 3rd.

The remains were sent to the Virginia State Medical Examiner's Office.
