Program To Help Residents Upgrade Private Roads

A program to help residents upgrade private roads with county assistance is about to undergo some changes designed to cut costs, and allow more people to participate.  County Engineer Adam Patterson explained the proposed changes to Allegany County commissioners at last weeks work session.  Asphalt paving will no longer be required in the program. Improvements can now include gravel or tar and chip. Minor drainage improvements may also be made to extend the longevity of the road. The roads concerned are called “other public” roads…
