A groundbreaking ceremony was held in late August for the new Allegany County Sheriff’s Office to be located in front of the County Office Building on Kelly Road- and progress has been steady. The single story, concrete block building will have a metal roof. Working in conjunction with the Allegany County Department of Public Works, the shell building was designed by Chaney Architects Inc. and will be constructed by Harbel Inc. Allegany County Maintenance Division employees will install all systems and complete the interior finishing of the building. Sheriff Craig Robertson tells WCBC News that construction of the shell building is scheduled to be completed later this month….
