Proposal Would Require Disclosure Lawmaker Finances

February 5th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

State senator Jamie Raskin plans to introduce legislation this week that would require lawmakers and eventually thousands of government employees to file their financial disclosures electronically. Raskin, a Democrat from Montgomery County, said Friday that the legislation would force senators and delegates to file their disclosure forms electronically by 2013, and require the state to post those filings on the Internet. By 2015, more than 10,000 other government employees who deal with public policy would also have to post their disclosure statements electronically.
