PSC to hold hearing on proposed Columbia Gas rate hike

The Maryland Public Service Commission will hold a virtual public comment hearing on Columbia Gas of Maryland’s rate increase application. The hearing will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 7 p.m. via Webex and will be conducted by Public Utility Law Judge Kristin Case Lawrence.

 

Columbia Gas has requested to increase rates for gas service by $6.3 million, or approximately 14 percent. Columbia Gas provides natural gas service to more than 33,000 customers in the western Maryland counties of Allegany, Garrett and Washington.

 

Members of the public who wish to speak at the hearing, should send an email to psc.pulj@gmail.com by 12 noon on September 1, 2020. The hearing will also be livestreamed on the Public Utility Law Judge Division’s YouTube channel, https://bit.ly/2X6wLiP.

 

Written comments will also be accepted until September 8, 2020 by using the Commission’s online public comments portal, instructions for which can be found at:
