The first in the newly re-branded “Cumberland Comes Alive- Bands on the Bricks” program was held this past Friday- replacing the popular “Friday After Five” event. Early reviews have been missed. At least one downtown business owner said crowds were down, but with time- the new programming and entertainment mix might catch on. Following the retirement of longtime downtown manager Ed Mullaney last October, the Downtown Development Commission began plans for a revitalized downtown event- attempting to attract a younger, more diverse audience. Mike Knippenberg, is the owner operator of the Downtown Dollar Store who said attendance was probably half of what is has been in the past…
