The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Service has taken a count of the crabs in the Chesapeake Bay. The blue crab survey indicates there are approximately 764 million crabs that wintered in the Chesapeake Bay. This is a 66 percent increase from last year. This number is triple the 207 million count taken last year.
